The Mortality of the Flesh
"What else is that cross of ours which the Lord commands us to carry if not the mortality of our flesh? It is a source of distress to us until death is swallowed up in victory.
Therefore, it is precisely this cross that we must crucify and pierce with the nails of the fear of God."
-- Augustine, Letter 243, 11

Augustine rocks.
Pretty much
De Doctrina Christiana is pretty stout. Especially book four, as far as this preacher is concerned.
Yeah, I highly recommend to all my brothers and sisters in Christ at seminary Philip Schaff's "The Early Church Fathers" 38 volume set, if you can afford it. It is basically a $1000.00 set that you can get at http://www.christianbook.com for $230.00, which is one heck of a deal for that many original writings of the Church Fathers, if you ask me.
It is a great deal, but hard to spend that much money at once for books I will read over a long period of time. I will probably try to get it on some Software.
